Apple Certified Support Professional 10.8 ACSP

Toronto Mac Tech has written and passed the examinations required for the Mountain Lion certifications, adding two more to our roster.

ACSP verifies an understanding of Mac OS X core functionality and an ability to configure key services, perform basic troubleshooting, and support multiple users with essential Mac OS X capabilities. ACSP certification is designed for the help desk professional, technical coordinator or power-user who supports Mac OS X users, manages networks or provides technical support for the Mac in your organization.

ACTC certification builds on ACSP, and verifies a foundation in Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server core functionality and an ability to configure key services and perform basic troubleshooting on Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server. ACTC certification is intended for Mac OS X technical coordinators and entry-level system administrators who maintain small-to-medium networks of computers using Mac OS X Server. This certification addresses both the support of Mac OS X clients and the core functionality and use of Mac OS X Server.

There will be two series of three workshops, starting in late March. The first group of three will be Monday evenings, and the second will be Wednesday’s in hopes to accommodate different schedules.

Toronto Mac Tech was fortunate enough to present it’s first Computer’s 101 Course at a Seniors Residence this past week. These attendees are eager to learn how technology including iPad’s can make their lives easier.

Many seniors have an interest in learning how Skype, and email can keep them connected with family and friends. How eBooks can be downloaded saving them walking to the book store. In addition, to how other games and utilities such as online banking and weather apps can enhance their lives.

Toronto Mac Tech also offers personal lessons in this area, so if you have a friend or family member in need of being shown the basics, we’d be happy to get them started!
